BOOK LOVERS UNITE – OCTOBER IS NATIONAL BOOK MONTH!

While the temperatures outside start to get colder and autumn is in full swing, it’s the perfect time to curl up with a cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, and a good book! It’s easy to get caught up in the daily routines of work and family obligations and to push hobbies, such as reading, to the side. This month marks the perfect time to stop by the library or your favorite local bookstore to pick up a few new books (or maybe some classics!) to make time to read.

National Book Month is held each October and celebrates the importance of reading, writing, and literature. It’s important to keep in mind that reading provides many health benefits, such as helping people develop better vocabulary, improving memory, expanding knowledge, and reducing stress levels! Think of reading as exercise for your brain – it helps it stay strong and healthy.

A few fiction books that I recommend are listed below (although, there are really too many to list!):

1. His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman

2. The Book of Dust series by Philip Pullman

3. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

4. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

5. The Lord of The Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien

6. A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

7. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen

8. Emma by Jane Austen

9. The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

10. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

These are just a few of the many, many amazing books out there! What are you waiting for?! Get to the library or bookstore and pick up something new to read this month! 🙂
