Book Lovers by Emily Henry

Book Review: Book Lovers

Emily Henry does it again with her latest novel, Book Lovers! This book is the perfect escape, as it’s light, easy to read, enjoyable, full of romance, and also contains really strong characters. The main character, Nora, is not only extremely relatable, but what she is experiencing in life is also something a lot of readers will be able to resonate with throughout the book.

In this novel, as many other reviewers have also noted, although romance is present, it is not the main theme. The main theme is about family and more specifically, Nora’s relationship with her sister, Libby. She can tell that Libby is hiding something, and at first she suspects it has to do with her marriage, but she can’t quite figure out what exactly is going on. When Libby suggests going to Sunshine Falls, Nora hopes to become closer to her sister again.

Additionally, when Nora (a literary agent) runs into Charlie Lastra, a book editor that she met back in NYC, she is surprised to discover that he is from a small town. While spending time with Charlie, she starts to consider what really matters in her life. There are various themes present throughout the novel, from family, personal and professional growth, love, to finding what is truly important in life. Is the big city the answer for Nora, or is it the sense of community and support that a small town can offer?

If you loved Emily Henry’s previous two books, then you should definitely check out Book Lovers! Even if you haven’t read her other novels, you should still read this one. It’s just that good! In other words, I highly recommend this book, and I hope that you love it too! :)
