Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella
Book Review: Love Your Life
Sophie Kinsella’s latest novel is full of romance and humor! A charming, funny, lighthearted read, this book will keep you entertained from the start.
Love Your Life follows the story of aspiring author, Ava, as she goes on a writing retreat and winds up falling (unexpectedly) in love. Although, much to her dismay, things aren’t quite what they seem when she arrives back home with her new beau.
The main characters seem perfect together when they meet on their retreat, but upon returning to London, their lives couldn’t be more different. One mishap after the next, Ava and Matt just can’t seem to find common ground. Even Ava’s beloved dog, Harold, can’t seem to adapt to Matt’s lifestyle.
The themes of love, believing in oneself, and hope are present in this story. There were parts of this book where I found myself laughing out loud at the outrageous situations that Ava would find herself in, and other parts where I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her, as she tried so hard to make her lifestyle work with Matt’s.
In the beginning, Ava’s personality comes across as impulsive, carefree, and full of uncertainty. Then, throughout the book, she grows into a person who is full of confidence, strength, and determination. In experiencing the difficult relationship with Matt, she is able to truly discover herself and decide what she wants out of life. The author shows the reader that when a person finally commits to achieving their goals, they can accomplish anything they set their mind to.
In short, this book is a quick, fun, light read and I’d recommend it!
