Book Review: The Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo 

Full of magic, adventure, romance, and excitement, this series is for fantasy lovers of all ages! The Shadow and Bone trilogy is the first series set in Leigh Bardugo’s imaginative “Grishaverse.” 

Important themes are explored throughout the captivating plot in this series. These include, good vs. evil, love and friendship, and taking control of one’s own destiny. 

Readers will love the main character, Alina Starkov, as she encounters many trials and tribulations with the Darkling in the world of the Grisha. She is faced with making many important decisions that will impact not only her future, but those she cares about deeply, including her best friend, Malyen (Mal) Oretsev. 

I found this series to be really enthralling — I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out what happened next! I don’t want to give too much away, but I also really loved the ending, I felt like Leigh Bardugo wrapped everything up very nicely.

Overall, I highly recommend this series, as I really loved it. I look forward to reading more of the books in Bardugo’s “Grishaverse.”
