Book Review: The Dating Plan

This book is a charming, light romance novel! The plot is a bit predictable, but regardless, it’s entertaining. The novel goes by rather quickly, as it’s told from alternating perspectives.

The author does a nice job of creating strong characters, that are relatable. The cultural differences between the main characters, Daisy and Liam, are really interesting as well. I also found the details surrounding the start-up company that Daisy works for very intriguing. There is a lot that happens when it comes to the small business world, and pitching to investors, that I didn’t know much about prior to reading this novel.

The themes of love, family, and letting go of the past are prominent throughout the novel. The bond between family is strong in this story, as well as recognizing that there’s no purpose on dwelling on the past mistakes of others. This only holds us back from seeing that people are capable of change.

Overall, this was a quick, enjoyable read. There were a few “cringey” moments, but also some really funny parts. Though it wasn’t a particularly deep novel, it was still entertaining, especially if you’re in need of something less serious!
