The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox
Book Review: The Holiday Swap
An enchanting, entertaining, uplifting, and heartwarming story, you won’t want to miss this festive book! Perfect for the holiday season, the authors do a wonderful job of captivating their readers (for those who are unaware, Maggie Knox is the pen name for the writing duo, Karma Brown and Marissa Stapley).
The story surrounds identical twin sisters, Charlie and Cass Goodwin. Charlie is a TV host on a popular LA baking show; while Cass lives in their hometown, Starlight Peak, running their family’s local bakery, Woodburn Breads, with their parents. When Charlie is in an accident on the set of her show, she loses her sense of taste and smell, which is a big problem for judging contestants on the show. In order to make it through the holiday specials, she convinces her sister to swap places with her. Since Cass is in need of space from her ex-boyfriend, she decides this will be the perfect escape.
While the sisters assume that this will be strictly business, neither could have predicted falling in love. When Cass meets Charlie’s PA from the hospital when she had her accident, Miguel, and Charlie meets local firefighter, Jake, their situations get much more complicated than they expected. Will the twins be able to get away with their swap without losing the men they’ve fallen deeply for?
Overall, I really enjoyed this fun, light, holiday book — I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a festive romance for the Christmas season!🎄
